Further Progress

The Process:
I've made a lot of progress in the last class period, and at home. As far as the understanding of my project topic, and gathering historical facts, Im slowly getting all of the things I need. I found a really useful graph of the Dow jones industrial average from 1940-1960. I think it is a primary source that perfectly shows the rise of the United States as a super power after WWII. I provided a picture of the graph in this post.
Because one of my objectives is evaluating organizations established for the protection of human rights, I found various international organizations established after WWII that exemplify the changing outreach to those in need. After the atrocities committed by Germans in Europe, countries were quick to establish organizations, such as the UN, that protected human rights. Some of the earliest accomplishments of these organizations, such as the Declaration of Human Rights (by UN), displayed growing assistance for people deprived of rights. Besides the UN, I am also looking into NATO and the Warsaw Pact. I plan to connect this objective to my essential question by showing the connection between the United States and the establishment of some of these organizations. In the case of the UN, the United States created some of the fundamental principles (our president coined the term united nations). The first official gathering of the organization was held in San Francisco , here in the United States.
In addition to the research written above, I have done some research on different interesting project ideas. Because I want to combine both media and drawn out work, I have yet to decide on a definitive project presentation style. However I know I will definitely be using an animap and a trifold board together somehow.

Problems:
.I am having trouble finding a way to connect all of my objectives to my essential question. Even though I tried to find objectives that would sort of fit my essential question, not all of them relate as nicely as I thought I might be able to accomplish. Even from such a wide selection, I feel that it would be hard to switch my objectives and effectively connect them, so I'm stuck.
.I am worried about making my project creative enough because I don't have a clear definition of what creativity is in terms of this course.

Questions:
1. Can we make our own objectives for this project?

    1. The objectives are on the left side widget thing.

  2. I believe we spoke about the objectives, right? Please speak with me if we did not.

Great thinking to look at the Dow averages to demonstrate economic superiority, but I think since "superior" is a relative term, you might want to compare the economy of the US with the economies of other major countries after the war.

From what you've said here, it seems as though you have really learned the material and are making it your own. Keep up the great reflection!
